What's a Ruby Red grapefruit? Is it different from golden grapefruit? Yes, these two types of grapefruit are different varieties of sweet Florida grapefruit from Harvey's Groves. But, both of these Indian River grapefruit types are bursting with juicy Florida sunshine and delicious flavor.

Ruby Red grapefruit have darker skin and flesh than golden grapefruit, and they're prized for their thin skins. Golden grapefruit, as the name implies, feature lighter skin and flesh than Ruby Reds. Golden grapefruit are seedless, while Ruby Red grapefruit are virtually seedless at Harvey's Groves. The grapefruit facts are simple for these two varieties: They are both full of sweet, juicy pulp.

Golden grapefruit is a hybrid of the renowned Duncan White variety which is sweet as honey, but full of seeds. Cross-pollination results in Florida grapefruit we also refer to as Golden Marsh grapefruit -- seedless, velvety and delicious. This golden Indian River grapefruit is sometimes called white grapefruit and many refer to it as the "citrusman's preferred grapefruit." However, both Ruby Red grapefruit and golden grapefruit share the spotlight for juiciness and sweetness; plus, each are ideal healthy snacks.
